Flying with Air Serbia
Air Serbia is the flag carrier and largest airline in the country of Serbia. Originally founded in 1927 and relaunched again 1992, Air Serbia operates a network of 42 destinations throughout Europe, Africa and The Middle East. Air Serbia currently operates a fleet of 19 aircraft comprising of 2 Airbus A320s, 6 Airbus A319s, 4 737-300s, 3 ATR 72-200s and 3 ATR 72-500s. Air Serbia has been a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 1961 and was one of the first airlines to receive the IATA “Operational Safety Audit Certificate” (IOSA) in 2005. Thanks to its partnership with Etihad Airways (national air carrier of the United Arab Emirates), Air Serbia has been able to offer its passengers connecting flights to many destinations beyond those currently established, directly to its own destination network.
Online check-in
- Online check-in for Air Serbia flights opens 36 hours before the scheduled flight departure and closes approximately 1 hour before take-off.
- Online check-in is available for all passengers in possession of a valid e-ticket, irrespective of whether the booking was made online, via travel agent or the Air Serbia Contact Centre.
- Air Serbia’s online check-in service is available for flights departing from the following destinations: Belgrade, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Bucharest, Istanbul, London and Prague.
- Airport check-in desks are available for passengers who cannot or do not wish to check in online. No extra charge is incurred for passengers checking in at the airport.
Cabin luggage allowance
- All cabin luggage carried onto an Air Serbia flight must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 50cm x 40cm x 20cm.
- The maximum weight for cabin luggage items is 8kg for all destinations.
- 1 piece of cabin luggage baggage is allowed per person, though this can be increased to 2 for a fee. Passengers are also entitled to carry 1 small item such as a purse or bag of Duty-Free goods in addition to their cabin luggage.
- Infants aged less than 1 years are not permitted any cabin luggage although passengers travelling with an infant are allowed to carry a fully collapsible baby stroller or baby basket on board in addition to their own cabin luggage allowance.
Checked baggage allowance
- The maximum size allowance for checked baggage on all Air Serbia flights is 158cm in total.
- The maximum weight allowance of any 1 item of checked baggage is 23kg. This limit also applies to the checked baggage of infant passengers. For a fee, the weight limit can be increased to 32kg per item.
- Each passenger is entitled to 1 free item of checked baggage. Passengers travelling with infants aged less than 2 years may also check an additional stroller or carrycot. Passengers are also able to increase their baggage allowance to 2 items for a fee.
- Baggage that exceeds the weight and/or size allowance as defined by Air Serbia will be subject to an excess charge. Any one item of baggage that is heavier than 32kg or larger than 203 cm will not be admitted onto the aircraft.
- Passengers are able to check some items of sporting equipment provided they meet the size and weight regulations of Air Serbia.
